Welcome to the World of A Mother in France

Ever wondered what it would be like to move your family to another country?  This site is all about what it’s actually like living Abroad as an Expat Family.  In my books and my blog I share our experiences as a family coping with life in France.  I cover topics like language learning, pregnancy, local customs, health , schools and the notorious French ‘Red Tape’.

If you want an honest, down to earth view of what it’s really like to live in France, then delve in for a real taste of France…

  1. Hello Nikki
I like your blog and I think many of my readers might be interested to read about you and your book. I edit TAG on line which is in a magazine format of which I am the editor and news reporter. We have articles on cooking, photography, gardening etc and have just recently added a blog section. We have between 600 and 1,000 views each day and TAG is rapidly growing covering the area Tarn, Tarn et Garonne, Aveyron, the Lot and infact Midi Pyrenees. I have given you a link so please look and see if you would like to add your blog and become involved with TAG

    Hi Nikki,
I’ve just read your text about “eating the French way” and I found it really nice.
Let me introduce myself. My name is Céline, I’m French and I live in Jura, one hour and a half away in the north of Lyon. I’m a fitness instructor and I’d like to share my “sport and good food attitude” to English people willing to learn French and lose weight. It would be like a “two in one” concept. I work in my own place, which is a small fitness center with accomodation facilities. It’s a familiar place where people like to come to do zumba, energy full or stretch classes. In addition to fitness, I love foreign languages. I speak English and Spanish. So the idea who be to make English people who want to learn French and lose weight come here in a all included place (diet food, the same you listed!, sport, French classes, accomodation.) The thing is that I don’t know where I could find interested people. As you are coming from England, maybe you know who I could contact in England? Thanks a lot Nikki!
    A bientôt!
    Céline
